About Me - My Personal Life

Hello, my name is Philip Viana. Besides being many things, for the purpose of this blog; I am a huge tech enthusiast and GTD maniac.

My brother Rick gave me my first Tony Robbins program when I was 12 years old. From that point, I was hooked on personal development books and audio books.

Before becoming a stay at home father and part time student, I had a successful career in retail banking. I was a Senior Personal Banker for 5 years, which included time with two of Canada’s biggest financial institutions.

My decision to leave banking was a hard but necessary choice. Although, I was helping many of my clients achieve a better life, I also found that I was not helping them enough that it fulfilled my life’s purpose. My purpose in life is to teach people to be more productive and find meaning in their lives.

Being home with my 3 year old son Ethan is both frustrating and rewarding. It is like no job I have ever had before. It is a challenge that is bringing the best out of me. Truthfully, when will I ever get this type of quality time with him again?

I fulfilled a long time goal this year, when I was given the opportunity to write for Stepcase’s Lifehack.org.

Today I am struggling with  starting a writing career and studying to become an adult educator while I take care of my son and my household.
